Questions

Q: How long have you been an artist?
A: I have been pretty much been making art my whole life starting with paint-by-nuimber sets, crewel embroidery kits, and rug hooking when I was a child. About 18 years ago, I started my business making primarily antique-embellished muslin dolls that I designed. I sold them through craft shows, national magazines, co-ops, stores, and even my own little shop. I eventually started making patterns of my work and sold those nationwide distributors. Over the last few years I have focused on primarily on mixed media collages that I design that incorporate my signature style with antique elements. Watch around the corner though, I plan to have some of my antique-embellished dolls for sale in the future!

Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?
A: Decorate my home! The answer is so easy for me. I took a course in interior decorating from The Sheffield School in NYC and learned so much! I love the Shabby Chic, French Country, and Victorian styles of decorating and can often be found painting, faux finishing, and re-arranging furniture on a daily basis. I also am a volunteer decorator for rental properties of a local business where I live.

Q: Your website mentions that you make "original" art. What does that mean?
A: It simply means that I design all my own artwork and it is not made from other artist's patterns or from a kit. All my artwork is pretty much from my own imagination!

Q: What are some ways I can display your pieces?
A: My collages are beautiful hung on a peg shelf or propped up next to a display of vintage items like a hatbox filled with old linens, a box of antique calling cards, or even on a wall in your office for a little vintage flair. I love my petal cakes displayed on a tiered cake plate on a dining room or kitchen table. So romantic!

Do you have a question you would like me to answer? I would love to hear from you. Just email me your question, and I will be glad to help.
